I've been taking Vyvanse now for a little over a year, but have been officially diagnosed with AD/HD since I was 19 (I'm now 31). But if there's one thing about it that frustrates me: People who are still ignorant of the fact that it is a REAL condition and that it really is more genetically-linked than discipline or television linked and people who are still so ignorant of it that they call it a "garbage can diagnosis." On account of the fact that my mother and over half of my cousins with children are encountering diagnoses, it shows a true genetic link. On account of the fact that when I don't eat anything with high fructose corn syrup or some of my other allergens, it shows a dietary link. But having seen the top AD/HD expert in my area who has been working with it for longer than I've been alive and has it himself in addition to having a son with it, I know for sure that it is REAL.
