I have had vainal infections for 4 years on and off. When I was pregnant I tested positive for group b strep. i received i.v. antibiotics before and after delivery via c-section. Throughout my pregnancy I did not have any infections at all. 2 months after delivery I had BV again. This past visit to the dr. only showed a high colonization of group b strep and negative for everything else. For the past 3 months, my period has been late, getting later and later each month. I have yellow mucousy discharge and very foul odor. My dr. has put me on vaginal estrace that seems to be doing nothing, along with acidopholis and 2gm vit. c QD. My Dr. says she can't do anything else to treat me and some women never get rid of it. Am I going to smell forever? Is there a treatment for this? I have searched online and it seems there are many women with this same problem and frustration that dr's can't seem to help us. I am a nurse, so this is very difficult for me to go day by day smelling foul when my hygeine is excellent. Please help with some ideas. Thanks.
