(1888PressRelease) The Ghotit text editor for Microsoft Windows was designed for people with dyslexia. The Ghotit text editor for Microsoft Windows incorporates Ghotit spelling and grammar checker. Unique features of word prediction and an advanced proofreading engine is offered as part of the Ghotit Microsoft Windows text editor.
Dyslexia is the most prevalent of all known learning disabilities. According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), approximately 5-15 percent of the population suffers from severe reading, and writing difficulties associated with dyslexia. Dyslexics spend significant time, effort and money to improve their written communication skills.
Ofer Chermesh is a lifelong dyslexic and one of Ghotit's founders. The struggle of producing readable text is well known to him. "I have no doubt that the people who designed regular text editors and spell checkers did not have in mind people with dyslexia. Regular spell checkers are targeting people with good spelling capabilities that occasionally make spelling mistakes, not dyslexics like me" says Ofer Chermesh.
Regular text editors and spell checkers are designed to correct spelling mistakes that are relatively close to the correct spelling. In order to identify the correct spelling of a poorly spelled word, the context of the sentence needs to be analyzed. Ghotit offers novel patent-protected context spell checking technology tuned for people with dyslexia and bad spelling. Using these algorithms, Ghotit can detect and correct not only really bad spelled words but also misused words, words that are spelled correctly, but are written out of context. Ghotit offers also advanced grammar checking algorithms, ensuring that the corrected text is not only error-free, but also written with correct English grammar.
Ghotit launched its online free service in 2008. In 2009 Ghotit released Word Writer, its addin for Microsoft Word for Windows. In 2012 Ghotit released Real Writer for Macintosh, its text editor for Macintosh.
Today Ghotit has released its Real Writer solution for Microsoft Windows. The Ghotit Real Writer solution for Microsoft Windows is based on a simple text editor that incorporates Ghotit spell and grammar checker. Unique features of word prediction and an advanced proofreading engine are offered as part of Ghotit Real Writer for Microsoft Windows.
"For years Microsoft is trying to position itself as one of the leading platforms for people with disabilities. Therefore, it is a natural evolution for Ghotit to offer a full Microsoft text editing solution. The Ghotit solution for Microsoft was designed for people with dyslexia. There is no other Windows solution in the market that has been 100% driven by the dyslexic community" says Ofer Chermesh.
Though initially designed for people with dyslexia, Ghotit has demonstrated success for people with other writing and reading difficulties such as people who use English as their Second Language (ESL) and English Language Learners (ELL) enabling them to move to mainstream English Writing.
