I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THESE DOCS THAT GET PAID SO MUCH FOR NOTHING ACTUALLY START DOING THERE JOBS & LISTEN TO THE KIDS MORE ON HOW THEY ARE REALLY FEELING. MY BROTHER[10] HAS SAID TO ME OVER & OVER HE DOES NOT L IKE HIS MEDS OXCARBAZEPINE,ABIFILY .  HE HAS GAINED QUITE A BIT OF WEIGHT. THE MEDS ALSO MAKE HIM FEEL DIZZY AND IN GENERAL DOES NIOT LIKE THE WAY THEY MAKE HIOM FEEL.  OUR CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE I SAY WE KEEP THEN HAPPY WITHOUT ALL THE DRUGS AND KEEP THEM HEALTHY AS WELL THROUGH DIET AND ALL OF OUR LOVE & UNDERSTANDING I DONT THINK WE SHOULD BE RELYING ON PILLS FOR SITUTAIONS LIKE THIS THANKS

I hope that works for your brother. I have 4 sons, one who has ADHD. We do the diet, enough sleep and excersize, behavior modification...result: one very unhappy boy who thinks he is stupid and can't do anything. We started with medications and he was able to complete homework and assignments, make friends and keep them.... he is now a happy, confident boy. Please do not pre-judge, just because some people abuse the medications, there are many more who struggle with their illness and their children's illness.
Thanks for the comments, Nicolet has had a different experience and is frustrated. Glad you were able to set him straight. I take a blood pressure med called Amlodipine, I started to have twitches and other symptoms similar to Parkison's which is when you have low dopamine. I thought I was going crazy, all stressed out. Anyways my Blood Pressure is very high with the amlodipine and I am looking for an alternative. One thing is they have linked Calcium with Low Dopamine in one study I read about schizophrenia. Could be related as Amlodipine is a Calcium Blocker which slow downs the heart in some ways. I was diagnosed with ADHD at 20 years old, that was 18 years ago. I took ritalin, it seemed to work but I did not try anything else. I am stressed at my job so I am trying to sleep more and want to start excersizing to reduce stress. Lots of stuff going on. and Drugs anc cause the problem, solve the problem, or not do anything at all but cause unwanted side effects, etc.
