Consequences of Not Taking Action

Posted Nov 10 2008 4:39pm

I think adults with ADHD understand that there are consequences for taking different types of actions. If you get caught speeding you get a ticket. If get caught breaking a law you go to jail. Sometimes people with ADHD still take the actions and have to deal with consequences. Though we don't usually like then consequences we still know they are there.

The same applies to not taking action but for many Adults with ADHD the consequences don't seem as real. Maybe it's because most of the time the consequences for not taking an action aren't as immediate. As adults with ADHD it's important to really become aware of the consequences for not taking action. Even though they may not be immediate these consequences can be just as severe and sometimes even more severe.

Sometimes Adults with ADHD are able to become aware of things like this own their own. Other times it takes the help of somebody like an ADHD Coach.
