Research Study Warns About Misconceptions of ADHD in Higher Education

A new research study is warning parents and students about the misconceptions of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), a disorder that can adversely affect higher education.

The report, which was conducted by Buffalo State graduate Kate Norwalk and psychology professor Jill M. Norvilitis, Ph.D., says that symptoms from ADHD can persist into adulthood and be detrimental to an affected student’s career. They say most college students do not anticipate academic difficulties because of the notion that the disorder goes away later in life.
